A love of art through the ages has brought you here—
ready to create something beautiful
for your future.
Fully Custom Invitation Design
for couples who believe their wedding stationery should be as considered as the art they collect, the places they travel, and the stories they choose to preserve.
The Sable & Serif signature “Patron of the Arts” offering is a fully custom design service. It includes a full collection of fine-art paper goods for your event—from save-the-dates and invitations to guest gifting and day-of paper goods—all adorned with custom painted artwork and crafted details.
This is not a template service.
This is a fully custom artistic commission, created exclusively for your wedding and designed to endure beyond the day itself.
For centuries, great works of art existed because patrons believed in the power of beauty, symbolism, and craft. Families commissioned artists not to simply decorate, but to tell a story worth preserving.
This offering follows that same tradition.
When you commission your wedding invitations, you step into the role of patron—supporting original artwork created exclusively for your celebration. Your stationery is not a product; it is a bespoke work of art, designed with intention, research, and reverence.
What it Means to Commission an Artist…
To commission an artist is to value:
· Original thought over replication
· Process over speed
· Meaning over mass production
The result is wedding paper that feels inseparable from you—as though it could only exist for this wedding, in this place.

Designed as a Collectible, Not an Accessory
Sable & Serif’s signature offering is a layered approach to fine art stationery, one where every element is considered, intentional, and rooted in art history and sense of place.
The result is stationery that feels unique and timeless—something that could just as easily belong in an archive, a collector’s cabinet, or a museum drawer.
This offering is for you if…
· You love museums, antiques, and cultural travel
· You want to commission an artist—not select a design
· You see your wedding as a curated, lasting experience
· You want invitations that feel heirloom-worthy
Invitations are created with the understanding that they will outlive the event. Many couples choose to frame elements of their suite, treating the work as part of their personal collection.
This is stationery intended to be kept.
What does a custom collection look like?
My signature offering is an artful approach to wedding stationery,
one that paints the picture of your story and
creates what will become a cherished heirloom.
Here are some examples.
Case Study #1: A FRENCH-COUNTRY GARDEN PARTY WEDDING
What made this custom collection special:
Watercolor and soft pastel venue illustration with its garden features and draping branches of willow tree, painted in a style inspired by the French Impressionists.
A painted watercolor border of willow leaves intertwined with French-blue ribbon, an adaptation of the patterns used on 18th-century Sevres porcelain—in particular, Sevres "Green Ribbon" service and "a rubans bleu celeste" service.
Invitation artwork is reimagined on the day-of paper goods, like table numbers, bar signs, and cocktail napkins.
A custom pattern of summer blooms in a willow trellis, inspired by the French 18th-century wallpaper “La Falaise,” is a versatile way to bring cohesiveness to the day.
Case Study #2: EUROPEAN CHATEAU-INSPIRED WEDDING WEEKEND
What makes the collection special:
The collection features floral festoons and neoclassical bows inspired by the architectural ornamentation of Versailles—translated from carved wood and stone into delicate watercolor. These versatile motifs appear throughout the suite to create a sense of continuity.
The wax seal is conceived as an intimate piece of jewelry: a gold locket holding a miniature painting of the venue’s landscape. Used on the menus and carried onto the vow books, it becomes a treasured, deeply personal detail.
An old‑world–style map guides guests through the estate’s many natural features and event locations.
The guestbook venue illustration continues the tradition of Ecole de Beaux-Arts architects documenting classical French structures such as the Petit Trianon.
A second venue illustration, featured on the envelope liner, evokes the loose sepia studies of Old Master artist Claude Lorrain, capturing the romance of place with a sketchbook’s immediacy.
THE PROCESS
01 / DREAM
We begin with a personal consultation, exploring your vision and the artistic elements that resonate with your story. From there, I’ll brainstorm design concepts and translate them into a custom proposal and an initial design board tailored to you.
02 / DESIGN
We then move into the design phase, where I hand‑paint the artwork that becomes the foundation of your suite. From there, I design the full invitation suite and present you with a detailed mockup. At this stage, we also begin envisioning your day‑of goods to ensure a cohesive, beautifully unified aesthetic.
03 / CREATE
Once you’ve approved your color swatches, material samples, and digital proof, we move into full production—carrying your project through professional printing, handwork, and assembly with a concierge‑level approach.
